JOURNAL STAMP: Self Taught by ZachDoug

Drawing is my escape. Escape from the world full of demands, troubles and cheating. Escape from reality.
Although I don't have time to draw as often as I used to, I can always find some time to do it. And to be able to enjoy these rare moments properly, I try to capture people and things I enjoy, admire and appreciate.
I don't draw to satisfy the masses or to gain appreciation just because of capturing objects of general popularity. My wish is to be appreciated for HOW I draw and not for WHAT I draw.

It took me a really long time to finish this commission. It was done for my Czech collegue who has worked with me in Berchtesgaden, Germany during the summer.

Date: November 19th, 2015
Tools: 8B, 4B, B, 2H, blending stick, charcoal, tissues

Hi! It's been already 11 months since my last journal entry, which is both funny and weird because I feel like writing it yesterday.

Well, if that's not the deja vu yet, the following is. In my last entry I was informing you about my summer I was going to spend in Germany. And now I'm about to tell you quite the same.Germany

Yeah, I'm returning there. I will spend there 14 days less and out of our group of 5 there are only 3 people remaining. That really sucks and I can hardly imagine it but in our language we say 'Všechno zlé je k něčemu dobré' loosely translated as 'Everything bad is good for something else'. I've still got a month ahead of me here so I'll spend it searching for some positive facts about it.

Anyway, let's move to the job. The more rainy days, the more working hours, the more money - that is what I kept telling myself last year. After all the incidents that had happened over the last months and after recent circumstances, I kind of sorted my priorities. It's no longer important to me how much I'm gonna earn. This time I hope for hot and sunny weather to be able to treat it as real holidays! Smiley soleil - Sun

And hopefully I'll be able to use my improved German knowledge I've learnt during this year to pass the Goethe Zertificat B2 when I come home - I have a deal with my friend - I'll go for German and she goes for French. Keep your fingers crossed for us! :crossfingers: revision

Wow thank you so much, this comment means really a lot to me! ♥ I sometimes do take requests here in my town, but since I'm a slow worker it means my life then is like school-drawing-school-drawing all the time and that is really exhausting! :)
